Group of Competitive Intelligence Professionals

This group was created in February 2008 under the umbrella of SEDIC, the Spanish association of information and documentation (www.sedic.es). It is a networking platform whose mission is to promote the competitive intelligence profession as well as to increase awareness and knowledge about the concept and practices among companies and institutions in order to reinforce its importance. It is a non-for profit organisation.

The main objectives of the group are the following:

- to increase members networking in order to improve cooperation and experience exchange
- to promote qualified and appropriate education and training to members and stakeholders
- to study common problems to the profession in order to work toward their solutions
- to organise events that help to extend the awareness of the competitive intelligence discipline
- to introduce professionals, companies and institutions in the competitive intelligence practice
- to collaborate nationally with other institutions to promote competitive intelligence
- to collaborate internationally with competitive intelligence associations or organisations
